Description
Villa Fidelia Bianco Sportoletti
The grapes of Villa Fidelia come from vineyards of about 16 years located on the hills of Spello and Assisi at 400-500 m altitude.
The permeable soil is of medium texture, tending to sandy, due to alterations in the sandstone of marine origin of the parent rock.
Harvesting started after 15th August with Chardonnay, and Grechetto followed in the first days of September.
Vinification:
The grapes are vinified separately to encourage the best development of aromas of the two varieties. As soon as they are picked, they are transported to the winery and destemmed.
At this stage they are chilled to a temperature of 8-10°, will the help of dry ice, and put in the press to macerate for a few hours.
The rapid drop in temperature and cold mechanical processing of the skins ensures the best possible extraction of aromas, and by creating an oxygen free environment, the grapes are protected from oxidizing. Alcoholic fermentation is in barriques of French oak with a capacity of 228 litres, where subsequently malolactic fermentation occurs.
The wine is refined in its own yeasts for several months, then matured in bottles for at least a year.
Tasting notes: straw yellow with green-gold reflections. Aromatic notes of honey, hazelnuts, butter, vanilla, with a subtle hint of pink grapefruit and tropical fruits.
Good density and persistence to the taste, with a rich balsamic finish.

Family
The Sportoletti family, for generations in agriculture, has always dedicated itself with passion to the production of wine. Towards the end of the 1970s, the brothers Ernesto and Remo, treasuring the teachings of their father Vittorio, decided to devote themselves exclusively to viticulture.
