Description
Vermentino Bolgheri DOC Antinori
Vermentino Bolgheri DOC Antinori Tenuta Guado al Tasso
The first vintage of Vermentino was 1996. The inspiration behind this wine was the desire to reintroduce one of the indigenous varieties from this part of the Tyrrhenian coast, recognized and appreciated since the 1990’s for its aromatic qualities. Bagheri’s microclimate is particularly favorable for Vermentino production due to both the territory’s orientation and proximity to the sea which gives the wine pronounced mineral notes, freshness and aromatic qualities
Vinification: each parcel was harvested separately, based on the degree of maturity of the grapes so as to preserve and enhance complex territorial characteristics of each individual vineyard block. Upon arrival at the cellars, grapes were destemmed, delicately crushed and gently pressed. The resulting must be transferred into stainless steel temperature-controlled fermentation tanks where alcoholic fermentation took place at a temperature of 16° C (61° F). Each individual lot was carefully and systematically evaluated and then blended. Vermentino Tenuta Guado al Tasso was bottled in January.
