Veneto Bianco IGT
Grape: 60% Trebbiano di Soave, 40% Garganega
Production area: Selection of grapevine trunks from vines in the Tremenalto area north of the Monteforte d’Alpone municipality
Harvest: By hand during the first 10 days of September
Vinification: Fermentation and vinification and blending of the two varieties in stainless steel. 50% of the blended wine is matured in 680 liter F. Fre’res wood barrels for about 9 months. Bottling in August of the following year after the harvest
Tasting note: Intense straw yellow. On the nose – bouquet of pout pourri and green tea with light notes of white pulp fruits and flint. Enveloping in the mouth, dense but not heavy, recalling the aromatic freshness of the perfumes, extending in a rich finish of flavor and extraordinary persistence.
Agin: 6 to 7 years with progressive complexity, additional 3 to 4 years to discover interests.
Gasronomic pairing: Goes well with shellfish, fish, white meat dishes and pasta with light sauces.
Suggested initial serving temperature: 10°-12°C
Ca‘ Rugate today: The new cellar was inaugurated in 2002 which began the dynamic growth of the last ten years of the estate of Ca’ Rugate. The arrival of Michele brings a lively entrepreneurial spirit that has permitted its expansion and further affirms the winery both in terms of quality and organization. It is in these last years that more considerable viticulture development has taken place. From 2002 to 2008 around 30 hectors (74 acres) have been purchased in the best areas of Monteforte d’Alpone and Montecchia di Crosara which makes a total of 48 hectors (119 acres).
