Grapes and Vinification
The secret of Torgiano Rosso Rubesco Lungarotti lies in its grapes: Sangiovese, Canaiolo, and Colorino, which are trained using a spur-pruned cordon system and harvested between September and October. The winemaking process is a true art form, involving fermentation in stainless steel tanks with 15 days of skin contact, followed by aging for one year in barrels and another year in bottles after light filtration.
Pairings
Torgiano Rosso Rubesco Lungarotti is perfect for pairing with pasta and risotto, barbecue, roasted white and red meats, and cheeses. Thanks to its moderate body, it is also excellent for preparing sauces. To best enhance its characteristics, serve at a temperature of 60-64°F (16-18°C).
Curiosities
A Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC) since 1968, it is the most widely distributed wine from Cantina Lungarotti. The name Rubesco is a fantasy brand derived from the Latin verb “rubescere,” meaning “to blush”: a name that evokes joy and cheerfulness. The wine label features a bas-relief depicting the grape harvest, a detail from the Fontana Maggiore in Perugia, the most beautiful 13th-century square fountain.
Purchase Torgiano Rosso Rubesco Lungarotti now and let yourself be captivated by its unparalleled elegance and the rich winemaking tradition it embodies.

This historic property houses a captivating cellar beneath its grounds, untouched and perfectly preserved for over two centuries.
The winery takes its name from Marco Monchiero and Lucia Carbone, the parents of Francesco Monchiero, who began the winemaking venture using vineyards inherited from both sides of the family. The roots of their winemaking tradition, however, run deep, tracing back through generations of dedicated grape growers from both families.
