Brunozzi Azienda Agraria
Azienda Agraria Brunozzi is a small, family-run winery located just over a kilometer south of Montefalco, in Colle Arfuso, a small, ancient rural hamlet overlooking the Spoleto plain.
Surrounded by Sagrantino vineyards and olive groves, in the silence of the countryside, the Cantina was born from the walls of an old farmhouse that had belonged to our family since the early 1900s.
This new generation wanted to strengthen that thread tied to the land that had thinned in time, but never broken, rediscovering quality wine production while respecting the traditions of the processes and products.
From harvesting to bottling, our hands are the main tool that brings man and product back to the center while respecting the environment.
A tradition that starts from afar…within the ancient walls of a rural village just a stone’s throw from Montefalco. Here, the bubbling of the wine fermenting in the cellar, the deep green of the oil fresh from the mill and the roar of the stone milling of the grain, for decades have marked the slow passing of the seasons and left an indelible imprint in every stone. The road to Colle Arfuso is a journey through time in search of the quiet of the countryside.
These are the sounds, scents and colors that our family has been trying to preserve and let visitors rediscover since 2002. Each of our bottles tells the story and traditions that have always linked us to the land.
It is from 1852 that the painting on our labels is the background of the DOC and DOCG productions and each name is linked to the people who have lived here.
In 2008 that, combining modern winemaking technologies with the ability to know how to wait and the secrets handed down from grandparents, the first bottle of Sagrantino Passito was produced. Year after year the winery’s growth has always been linked to the production of a new DOC, and as of 2016 there are 6 labels produced. Skillful manual labor is the thread that binds the entire production to the territory and the people who live it.
