Origins and Quality
This extraordinary wine is produced with 90% Nerello Mascalese and 10% Nerello Mantellato/Capuccio grapes, sourced from vineyards located on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, in the Calderara district of Randazzo, at an altitude of 650 meters above sea level. Here, the volcanic, rocky, dry soil rich in minerals imparts a unique personality and unforgettable character to the wine. The vineyards, cultivated on trellises with high planting density, ensure a yield of 50 quintals per hectare, allowing for meticulous selection of the best grapes.
Winemaking
The winemaking process involves maceration with the skins for 12/15 days at controlled temperatures, followed by refinement in steel tanks. This careful process allows for optimal extraction of the distinctive characteristics of the grapes while preserving the wine’s elegance and balance.

Filippo Grasso Etna Vignerons
Filippo Grasso a family who lives and works on Etna always, this is the way we like to describe ourselves. Ours is a small reality, six hectares of land nestled between the Etna Volcano and Nebrodi mountains in the abundant Contrada Calderara, located on the North side of Etna.
We are 4th generation winemakers, passionate and in love with our volcano and the wine that we produce from the territory we live on. We cultivate only indigenous grapes; nerello mascalese and nerello mantellato for red and rosè wines; carricante, catarratto and minnella bianca for white wines.
We are at 650 meters above sea level and our soil is made up black volcanic rocks that give the wine a unique minerality and sapid finish on the palate. Our wines are simple and straight forward and we do our best to deliver “the Etna volcano experience” to you in each sip.
One hundred olive trees that are mostly dated over a century in age coexist with our vineyards allowing us to also produce extra virgin olive oil. We work every day to carry on our tradition: Etna is in our dna, Etna in our heart and Etna is our glass!
