The vineyards of Montefalco Sagrantino Tenuta Alzatura are located at an average altitude of 350 meters above sea level, benefiting from well-structured medium-textured soil. This historic property houses a captivating cellar beneath its grounds, untouched and perfectly preserved for over two centuries.
The winery takes its name from Marco Monchiero and Lucia Carbone, the parents of Francesco Monchiero, who began the winemaking venture using vineyards inherited from both sides of the family. The roots of their winemaking tradition, however, run deep, tracing back through generations of dedicated grape growers from both families.
