Description Vineyards:
The different plots in the municipality of Bevagna (Pg), in vocabolo Arquata, offer southeast exposure at 230 meters above sea level on clay-limestone soil.
Harvest:
Manual from the second half of September to early October, depending on the different ripening times of grape varieties.
Vinification:
After destemming, fermentation and maceration take place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 28°C for 21-28 days, with daily pumping over and delestage. Post-fermentation maceration lasts 4-5 days. Aging in oak barrels for 30 months precedes bottling. An additional 12 months of bottle aging complete the process. This historic property houses a captivating cellar beneath its grounds, untouched and perfectly preserved for over two centuries.
The winery takes its name from Marco Monchiero and Lucia Carbone, the parents of Francesco Monchiero, who began the winemaking venture using vineyards inherited from both sides of the family. The roots of their winemaking tradition, however, run deep, tracing back through generations of dedicated grape growers from both families.
