Origin and Terroir:

The Mevante vineyards stand majestically in the heart of Bevagna, embracing the ideal South-Eastern exposure at approximately 250 meters above sea level. The vines, with over 20 years of age, sink their roots into a unique terroir, characterized by clay soil alternating with marly-sandy formations, enriched by fluvial-lacustrine deposits and loam. This composition gives the wine a unique complexity and depth, reflecting the exceptional Umbrian territory.

Blend and Vinification:

The magic of Mevante is manifested in its eclectic blend of native and international grape varieties: Sangiovese at 80%, Merlot at 10%, and Sagrantino at 10%. In addition to this, harvesting is done manually in crates, starting in mid-September for Merlot and early October for Sagrantino and Sangiovese grapes. The vinification process begins with maceration on the skins, allowing for the extraction of flavors and aromas. Furthermore, this is followed by aging, both in stainless steel tanks and in bottle, for about 8 months. This meticulous process ensures a perfect expression of taste and aroma. However, marrying the characteristics of each grape variety harmoniously.
