Montefalco Rosso Abis Migliosi Denomination of Origin Control (DOC) is located in the picturesque province of Perugia, at the heart of Umbria, encompassing the territory of Montefalco and parts of the municipalities of Bevagna, Giano dell’Umbria, Gualdo Cattaneo, and Castel Ritaldi. This region, adorned with ancient medieval villages, features gently sloping terrains along the profiles of the higher hill ranges, creating a wide range of microclimates and cultivation conditions. This historic property houses a captivating cellar beneath its grounds, untouched and perfectly preserved for over two centuries.
The winery takes its name from Marco Monchiero and Lucia Carbone, the parents of Francesco Monchiero, who began the winemaking venture using vineyards inherited from both sides of the family. The roots of their winemaking tradition, however, run deep, tracing back through generations of dedicated grape growers from both families.
