Origin and Tradition:
Mombirone, one of the picturesque hills surrounding Canale, is the cradle of our family’s winemaking tradition. Since as far back as 1918, when great-grandmother Tilde acquired the first small plot of land, this area has been dedicated to cultivating the prized Barbera variety. Our vineyards, expanding over the decades to reach 4 hectares, embrace the hilltop, benefiting from different exposures that ensure consistent and unique quality.
Vinification and Aging:
After more than a century of dedication, we harvest the finest Barbera grapes in the first 15 days of October. Alcoholic fermentation occurs through traditional methods and lasts for 15/20 days, followed by maturation in 228-liter wooden barrels. Here, malolactic fermentation and aging take place, which can last between 15 and 20 months. After bottling, the wine rests in our underground cellars for about 6 months before being released to the market approximately two years after harvest.

In the mouth, it reveals a complex power balanced by initial softness and acidity that lends lightness to the fruit. Our cellar, modern and functional, was completely renovated in 1997 and today presents inside: A vinification and storage department where there are stainless steel tanks for fermentation and storage of wines, equipped with devices for temperature regulation and automation of the pumping-over of red wines during fermentation.
