Ciliegiolo di Narni 05035 – Bussoletti
Ciliegiolo di Narni 05035 Bussoletti is our first red wine, named after the postal code of Narni. It is crafted from 100% Ciliegiolo grapes sourced from two vineyards located in San Gemini: one in the Colle Ozio area and the other in Colle Pizzuto. These vineyards are situated at an elevation of 230 – 290 meters above sea level, featuring a medium-textured clay-limestone soil composition. Leggi di più
With vine age ranging from 5 to 15 years, they are trained using the Guyot trellising system, allowing for a yield of 700 to 800 grams per plant. The grapes are carefully hand-harvested and collected in 20 kg crates to maintain their quality.
Spontaneous fermentation takes place for approximately 6-10 days, highlighting the varietal characteristics of Ciliegiolo. Following the gentle pressing, the wine undergoes a 6-month refinement period in stainless steel tanks on its fine lees. This process enhances its flavors and aromas. After bottling, the Ciliegiolo di Narni 05035 Bussoletti rests in our cellars for an additional 1-2 months, further developing its character.
The annual production of Ciliegiolo di Narni 05035 Bussoletti ranges from 15,000 to 20,000 bottles, showcasing the passion and dedication we put into each vintage.

Our grapes are the result of patient and careful selection; exclusively those of Ciliegiolo, Grechetto and Trebbiano Spoletino. Prioritizing quality creates the difference.
CILIEGIOLO
The rediscovery of lightness
It is underway the progressive affirmation of a winemaking style that leaves behind the fashion of opulent wines, with a marked extractive charge, in favor of more dynamic, lean wines, but of substance and undeniable drinkability, very versatile. Ciliegiolo perfectly interprets this evolution.
Ciliegiolo owes its name to the typical cherry aroma. Its origins are uncertain. According to some sources, it was introduced to Italy by pilgrims returning from a trip to Santiago de Compostela. Other historians argue that the origin is Etruscan. It is universally considered one of the progenitors of Sangiovese. Due to its excellent qualities, Ciliegiolo represents an authentic rediscovery.
Its characteristics
It is a black grape variety; the grapes have a very fine skin and a rather early ripening. The harvest never exceeds mid-September, the grapes tend to oxidation and in vinification to reduction. The vine is vigorous and can produce up to 150/160 quintals per hectare. It gives life to elegant wines with good acidity, non-invasive that can support well over time.
