The Alto Adige Chardonnay Riserva Isarco Bessererhof stands as a stellar expression of its terroir. Nestled at 550 meters above sea level, the vineyard sprawls across a west-facing slope, characterized by deep sandy clay soil. Training System: Guyot with a density of 7,300 vines per hectare.
Yield: 60 hectoliters per hectare.
Winemaking:
Hand-harvested grapes undergo a gentle pressing after a brief maceration period. The grape must is clarified by allowing impurities to settle slowly. Fermentation takes place in 500-liter wooden barrels (one-third of which is new wood). Following malolactic fermentation, the wine matures on coarse lees for 12 months in large wooden casks, with yeast kept in suspension through regular stirring. Subsequently, the wine is stored for an additional year in stainless steel tanks before bottling. In the bottle, the Chardonnay ages for an additional three months.

The aroma is characterized by complex notes of tropical fruits with a subtle veil of vanilla and a discreet hint of wood. The taste of this Chardonnay is voluminous and intricate, finely creamy, well-structured on the palate, with a long mineral finish.

Bessererhof Estate
The Bessererhof Estate is the southernmost estate in the Valle Isarco. It is located at the foot of the Sciliar Plateau in the Dolomites. The vineyards are located on an altitude between 350m just below the estate itself and 900m in Tiso in the Val di Funes.
This harmonious union is also reflected in the wines of Tenuta Bessererhof. The modern form of the espalier breeding is applied to cultivate traditional varieties such as yellow Muscat and white Pinot and modern red Zweigelt joins the tradition of the production of white wines in the Isarco Valley. Realizing this union, The Bessererhof Estate, on an altitude of 380m, has been practicing natural viticulture for years to support nature in growing and thriving and to use chemicals as little as possible. The slopes require hours of hard work by the Mair family and also a great love for grapes.
