Wine Characteristics
Grape Variety: 100% Nebbiolo
Alcohol: 14.0% vol.
First Vintage: 2014
The Cerretta Vineyard
The grapes for this Barolo come from the prestigious Cerretta vineyard, located in the heart of Serralunga d’Alba at an altitude of 340 meters above sea level, with a westward exposure. The calcareous clay soil gives the wine its signature mineral structure and aromatic complexity. The vines were planted in 1998, trained in the espalier system, and pruned using the Guyot method to ensure the perfect balance between yield and quality.
Vinification and Aging
Vinification takes place in cement vats, where the must ferments in contact with the skins for about 25 days. Daily pump-overs and a délestage halfway through the process ensure optimal extraction of color and tannins, making the wine complex and long-lasting. Aging ranges from 18 to 30 months depending on the vintage, in 25 hl French oak barrels from the renowned Forest of Fontainebleau, adding depth and refinement.
Food Pairings
Barolo Ceretta Davide Fregonese pairs perfectly with rich and succulent dishes. Ideal with Fassona ribeye steak, filet mignon with morels, or truffled partridge, served at the optimal temperature of 16°C-17°C to fully enhance its aromas and flavors.
A Collectible Wine
Barolo Ceretta Davide Fregonese captures the true essence of the Langhe region, suitable for long aging but already capable of thrilling with its silky tannins and aromatic complexity. A unique experience for every wine connoisseur.

My story, rooted in the determination of the Piedmont people, is inspired by the resolute spirit of the winemakers who have shaped my land. The name of my company, “Bugia Nen,” comes from an emblematic historical event during the Battle of Assietta in 1747, where the courage and tenacity of the Piedmontese triumphed against all odds.
Like Paolo Federico Novarina, who, with the phrase “Noiàutri i bogioma nen da sì” (We will not move from here), embodied strength and perseverance, I too face every challenge with dedication and resolve. My goal is clear: to bring Piedmont and Sicily to the forefront of the global winemaking scene through quality wines that tell the stories of unique territories and authentic viticulture.
