Barbera d’Alba Pelisa – Monchiero Carbone
Barbera d’Alba Pelisa Monchiero Carbone

This particular wine is made from the estate’s younger vineyards, which ripen early in October. The vinification lasts for around 15 days, and is followed by a short period of maturation: 70% in stainless steel, and the remaining 30% in oak for one year. The result is a ruby-red wine with a fragrant, vinous nose, and a smooth, full-bodied palate that offers a magnificent sensation of freshness. A product that could be defined as an easy-drinking, mealtime wine, perfect for serving every day.
Growing area: Roero – communes of Canale and Priocca
Altitude: 250-300 m
Yield per hectare: 9 tons
Alcohol content: 12.5-13%
Acidity: 5.5-6.5 g/l
Bottle sizes: 75 cl
First vintage: 1992
Colour: deep ruby red with bright highlights.
Nose: forthrightly and fruitily intense, initial sensations of sour black cherry and cherry giving way to pleasantly earthy notes of damp soil.
Bouquet: despite a lack of structure and persistence, its characteristic fruity freshness makes Pelisa eminently quaffable.
Serving combinations: its fresh, fruity vein makes this wine an ideal accompaniment to grilled meats, especially pork chops and sausage.

Il Sagrantino
We cannot talk about Umbria and Montefalco, today, without mentioning Sagrantino. A very ancient grape variety that produces red grapes with exceptional characteristics both for long aging wines and for passito wines.
Marco Caprai believed in the great richness of this tradition and has recovered it in a modern key, adopting the most innovative methods of production and business management. Thanks to continuous research and experimentation we work to offer to the public powerful, elegant wines with great personality and typicality.

Our cellar, modern and functional, was completely renovated in 1997 and today presents inside: A vinification and storage department where there are stainless steel tanks for fermentation and storage of wines, equipped with devices for temperature regulation and automation of the pumping-over of red wines during fermentation.
