Capo di Stato – Loredan Gasparini
Capo di Stato Loredan Gasparini DOC Montello Venegazzù Superiore.
This Riserva was born in 1964 and is the result of a selection of grapes from our old vineyards, where clones that are now impossible to find create a red wine with a unique and original character. The grapes are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec, but the uniqueness lies in the origin of these vines, which represent a small museum to safeguard biodiversity. Leggi di più
A wine that also manages to best represent the great character of the Venegazzù lands, where freshness and acidity always support an intense and complex body that is never expressed through power but with refinement and sensuality.
The first vintage was made in 1964, selecting the best grapes from the estate’s oldest vineyard.
The birth of a cru
Capo di Stato Loredan Gasparini
When Count Loredan, after years of producing wines of extreme prestige, began to have at his disposal a vineyard patrimony of a certain maturity, in the 1960s he began to think about creating a special reserve of Rosso di Venegazzù. He came up with the idea of producing an exquisite wine in limited quantities and vintages, which soon became sought after for many special occasions, particularly in the city of Venice, and was soon appreciated worldwide. Among its first admirers were various Heads of State and in particular the French President Charles de Gaulle, in whose honour it was permanently named Head of State.
