Vineyards:
The vineyards are situated on hillsides between 300 and 400 meters above sea level, facing south and southwest. The vines are trained using both cordone speronato and Guyot methods, with an average age of 15 years.
Harvest: Generally taking place in the second week of October, the grapes are carefully handpicked during the harvest.

Winemaking:
Gently transferred to fermentation tanks through gravity, the grapes engage in the maceration and fermentation process on the skins for a duration of 25-40 days at a controlled temperature ranging between 25-28°C. Following this, the wine experiences spontaneous clarification, abstaining from filtration.

Aging:
The Montefalco Sagrantino Antonelli matures in predominantly large oak barrels for a minimum of 18 months. Prior to bottling, it rests in cement tanks.

Tasting Notes:
Montefalco Sagrantino Antonelli displays an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it reveals a rich, powerful, ethereal, and complex aroma. It is typically characterized by notes of fruits and aromatic herbs, including citrus, cherry, berries, mint, and oregano. On the palate, it is a highly structured wine with firm and persistent tannins. It reaches its full potential with long bottle aging.

Pairings:
Montefalco Sagrantino Antonelli pairs perfectly with grilled and roasted meats, braised or stewed red meats, game dishes, and aged hard cheeses.

Optimal Aging Period:
Generally, Montefalco Sagrantino Antonelli reaches its full maturity 10-15 years after harvest and can continue to improve in the bottle for over 30 years.
